Clearwater, Fla. (WFLA) – Hurricane season is here and the city of Clearwater is trying to get people ready for the storm and the reaction that follows.

During the second Hurricane Expo event, city officials provided educational tools and resources available to all Clearwater residents.

They said people need to know where they are staying, make plans and get supplies in advance.

“Last season was one of the most impactful things we’ve ever had, so this season we know what you have, what you have, what you have, if you’re in a flood area. We know if you’re in the evacuation zone. We know if everything is prepared here and rescue.

The city’s resources and emergency response units, including fire and rescue, police and public works, all participated in the event.

Clearwater officials said they would try to plan more educational events in the future for those who were unable to attend Saturday’s event.
