Many Central Floridians may be feeling lucky this weekend ahead of St. Patrick’s Day, which will be filled with beer and Irish-themed conviviality on March 17th.
What began as a commemoration of Irish Christianity and the island’s patron saint, St. Patrick, has evolved into a broader celebration of Irish culture, often involving parades, dancing, drinking, and lush surroundings.
This year, many bars and restaurants in Central Florida are hosting parties and offering special food and drinks to guests looking to celebrate.

The City of Mount Dora will host a St. Patrick’s Day Block Party with live entertainment and festive fun in the heart of downtown. The City of Ocoee will host a St. Patrick’s Day block party that will include games, rides, live music, food trucks, and contests such as a shamrock treasure hunt, guess the pot of gold game, and the gold chopsticks challenge. Oviedo’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival is free and family-friendly, with live entertainment and family-friendly activities, as well as draft and food trucks selling fresh Guinness, Smithwicks and Harps. Enjoy Irish dancers, stilt walkers, face painting and more at Center Lake Park. The event is free to attend, but if you are 21 years of age or older, you can purchase a beer punch card. The Promenade at Sunset Walk hosts a free-admission weekend festival featuring DJ Leprechaun performances, dueling pianos, as well as leprechauns and street performers.
