st. Augustine, Fla. (WFLA) – A man has been arrested after attempting to lure an employee from a store he stole, the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office said.
Lawmakers responded to the business at about 3:30pm on June 29 at 1054 SR 206 East after a speaker said the man was trying to push the woman into the vehicle.
According to SJSO, deputies dragged her where 31-year-old Theodore Tandider forced a female employee out of the store and tried to push her into the car.
Surveillance footage showed a woman screaming as she fought the attacker.
The victim attracted the attention of someone nearby who came to her aid and called the sheriff’s office as Tandider abandoned her attempts to lure him out of the parking lot, SJSO said.
“The victims of this situation have done everything right. They scream/scream, fight, get their attention,” the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
Florida fish and wildlife officers recklessly drove the Tandidore and escaped from the FWC, but were soon captured.
Tundidor was charged with lure, robbery and Grand Theft Auto by an SJSO detective. SJSO said it also added an additional fee for FWCs to drive under the influence, and an additional fee for running away from law enforcement.
