Fort Myers, Fla. (WFLA) – We paddled a canoe about 3,000 miles from Canada to southwest Florida.
Peter Frank told NBC affiliate WBBH that the trip will last for about 11 months, overcoming harsh weather conditions.

“I’ve experienced quite a lot of weather to get here,” Frank told WBBH. “I’ve been canoeing all winter, and this is pretty difficult.”
Frank fished for his meal and slept in the tent. It wasn’t always easy, but he said the difficulties were worth it.
“I think travelling at four miles per hour is one of the best ways to experience North America, just to be able to see God’s creations, whether it’s dolphins, wildlife, otters, turtles, crocodiles, wild horses,” Frank said.

Frank set out on another trip on Tuesday – his trekking returned to Canada. If he completes the trip, he will make history.
“This will be the second time in history where clockwise cycles have been made,” Frank said. “And it’s done on the same boat that first took place 45 years ago. So there’s a lot of historical value to this trip.”
He set out on his voyage to not only see the continent, but to regain his childhood. He was attacked by a car at the age of four and said he might never walk again.

“It took away a lot of my childhood,” he said. “And then I was like, ‘What am I doing? What is life really?” โ
After recovering from his injury, Frank said he tested his physical limitations and accepted his desire to travel.
“That was the beginning of my journey. I became obsessed with doing things like this because with my body I can do it. “I’ve got so close to taking everything away from me. I have the ability to do it, so I have to.”
