Florida State Assemblyman Byron Donald’s Florida Governor Campaign reported a significant increase in funding this week, raising more than $9.2 million in the third quarter of 2025.
Campaign Finance reports show that Donald’s third quarter total of about $7.9 million went through his political committee, while the rest went to his campaign account. This number is usually particularly noteworthy during the late summer fundraising period, highlighting the strength of his donor network.
Donald, who took part in the race in May, quickly gained momentum with both grassroots activists and founding Republicans. He secured the approval of former President Donald Trump, a key approval in the GOP primary, and recently received support from 15 Florida sheriff’s offices. His campaign is also supported by top House Republican leadership members, including Speaker Mike Johnson, majority leader Steve Scullies, majority Whip Tom Emmer, Conference Chair Lisa McClain and Leadership Chair Elise Stefanik.
“Byron Donald is the governor’s dominant force in the race by all metrics,” said Ryan Smith, chief strategist of the Donald campaign. “His broad conservative grassroots support, record funding and a huge lead in voting has led Byron Donald to travel through Florida to convey his winning message across every corner of the state.”
Recent polls show Donald enjoys greater benefits than both declared Republican challengers and potential challengers. Former Florida House Speaker Paul Renner is now his only announced rival, with speculation about other possible candidates continuing. Additionally, Donald could lead the Democratic opponents in early investigations.

More than $31.3 million raised more than a year before the election, Donald is well located to saturate Florida’s expensive television market and invest in ground operations to engage in large, diverse voters in the state. Political observers have acknowledged that the financial strength of his campaign allows him to shape the race early, and force his opponents to catch up.
The challenge for the future is to translate this funding advantage into a sustainable organization that can translate funding into votes. Florida’s size, media costs and political competition require both substantial spending and grassroots mobilization. For now, Donald is heading into the fall as a clear financial frontrunner for the GOP primary, showing momentum showing signs of slowing down momentum.
