Brian Hodgers secured a Republican nomination in a special election for the Florida Capitol District. Hodgers won by 309 votes, a margin of about two points, according to the Brevard County election manager.

Hodgers, a businessman and conservative politician, highlighted his campaign alliance with former President Donald Trump’s agenda in his victory remarks. He expressed his gratitude to his supporters and pledged to focus on affordability issues and conservative policies if elected to Congress.
“I can’t wait to work for our Brevard County families in our legislature,” Hodgers said. “This victory would not have been possible without the district’s commitment to our campaign.”
Hodgers also recognized the enemy, celebrated the competitive race and expressed his hopes for cooperation on the important issues facing the district.
With the Republican nomination secured, Hodgers will advance to the general election against Democrat Juan Hinojosa on June 10th.
