TAMPA, Fla. — The Federal University Ju Court has indicted a Bradenton man on charges of illegal possession of a firearm, announced by the US law firm for the Central District of Florida.
44-year-old Orbin Javier Gutierrez Ponce has been accused of illegally owning two handguns in July 2025, and we know he is illegally present in the United States. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in federal prison.
Prosecutors also submitted a notice that the government intends to confiscate it into firearms (Taurus 9mm pistols and Springfield 9mm pistols).
The indictment says Gutierrez Ponce, who has no legal status in the country, is prohibited from owning firearms under federal law.

The incident was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, cigarettes, firearms and explosives, US Immigration Customs Enforcement and Removal Operations, and the Bradenton Police Department. US lawyer Abigail K. King has charged the case.
Officials said the indictment is part of Take Back America, a Department of Justice initiative aimed at combating illegal immigration, drug cartels and cross-border criminal organizations.
Gutierrez Ponce is presumed to remain innocent unless proven guilty in court.
