The Miami Herald reported Thursday that Attorney General Pam Bondy has been charged with “serious professional misconduct” in a complaint in a Florida bar.
Bondy’s record as head of the Department of Justice has been condemned near the former Florida Supreme Court justice through nearly 70 law professors, lawyers and Florida ethics complaints, according to the Herald.
In the complaint, the group alleges that Bondi violates ethical obligations in its current role and that “serious professional misconduct that threatens the rule of law and the control of justice” was committed by the Attorney General, Herald reported.
Bondi is a Florida native and previously served as Sunshine State’s first female attorney general. “Pamela Jo Bondi” is listed as “in good condition” as a member of Florida Bar.
A few months ago, Democrats pushed Bondi in a hearing of her confirmation about their ability to push back Trump, which he had repeatedly said would come for the enemy.
Bondi also sought to force Justice Department lawyers to violate their ethical obligations, according to the Herald,” the complaint states.
Oka reached out to the Department of Justice and the Florida bar for comment.
In a statement, Justice Department Chief of Staff Chad Misell told the Herald: “Bars in Florida have rejected twice any attempt at performance by these out-of-state lawyers to weaponise Bar’s complaints process against Ag Bondi.”
