Another doctor associated with the West Miami-Dade Orthopedic Surgery Center has been accused by the Florida Department of Health of causing the death of a Brazilian butt lifting patient.
Dr. Fermin Morales, currently a participant in the New Life Plastic Surgery, has filed an administrative complaint against him at the Venus Cosmetics Institute regarding the death of BBL in 2023. Dr. Morales, a board certified by the US Surgery Board since 2009, has previously held a clean discipline record of the licences he had been holding since 2011.
State complaints, discipline, Brazilian butt lift injuries and deaths present nothing new to the New Life Flastic Surgery, 8400 SW Eighth St., which lists Morales among surgeons.
He could not be contacted by phone Thursday to comment. According to New Life Plastic Surgery, doctors said they put the Miami Herald Reporter on hold for a few minutes before hanging up.
A fatal surgery at Doral Strip Mall?
In addition to New Life, Morales is listed in West Miami-Dade’s Buttinic Aesthetics. New Life’s Doctors since 2019

State records show that the new president of life is Daniel Gonzalez and the vice president is Rainier Lara.
