Some GOP Congress members say housing conditions for military families in Florida need improvement. North Florida Rep. Aaron Bean (FL-04) is seeking a full review of the Military Housing Privacy Policy Initiative (MHPI) following disturbing reports of unsafe living conditions affecting military families across the country. Bean cites several stories from a Florida family in the Northeast, including those whose children are currently facing lifelong health issues. “I am very concerned about the stories I have received regarding dangerous housing conditions under the Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI),” the lawmaker said. Bean says there are plenty of horror stories of…
For now-deprecated Dexter fans at Hannibal Square, there is a new hang to consider: the Corner Chophouse. Steakhouses from Indigo Road Hospitality Group’s Carnivorous Mind have officially opened their doors by hatched brands including Oaks Steakhouse (Atlanta, Charleston, Nashville, etc.) and O-KU (Alice Beach, Jacksonville, Washington, DC, etc.). The maker hopes to become a “local destination for steaks, martinis and everyday celebrations. This is because of the quality that stands out even from the concept of the sister steakhouse. “We have that emphasis on staying local,” Fee told Orlando Sentinel. “We use local providers and we try to incorporate the…
Nashville – New experiences, new perspectives. In a fierce fighting effort, the Florida Panthers fell to the Nashville Predators with a 5-0 and 5-3 score on the preseason opening doubleheader. “You’re thinking about coming back and being competitive over the summer,” Forward Kai Schwind said of the start of the preseason. “That’s what we live in so it’s good to be back.” Without the veterans on the Stanley Cup roster, the younger Florida lineup would have acquired a taste of the NHL game. With one player with an NHL experience, Trevor Carrick skated in seven NHL games, the Panthers played…

Fdle together with the Florida Department of Financial Services began an investigation revealing that on…
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 28 people and confiscated dozens of fraudulent gambling machines after multiple store stab wounds known as Operation Bad Odds. Sheriff Grady Judd led an investigation targeting a Polk County location where machines were hidden in the back rooms of convenience stores and small stores. More than $100,000 in cash was seized along with the two firearms as well as the machines. Officials say the store clerk awarded a cash prize to a secret agent who played a machine that was not set in the official payment rules. Fees include carrying out illegal gambling spots…

I don’t think anyone can question my conservative head on. Maybe my discomfort comes from my alignment with true conservative values, a philosophically classic liberal. However, I must say that there is growing concern over public debate about freedom of speech. With power, it is a political reality to find bridges moving too far, pushing the lines of action too far. You need to always check yourself. Slide into areas where you need to check. If such ideas are aired, it is clear that some of the influence will need to reread the First Amendment. “This isn’t about cancellation culture.…
Question: Ready to repot Nastortium for autumn and winter. Is it time to sow seeds now? Answer: Wait a few weeks longer for more medium weather to start nastrutium seeds once the weather returns. White, yellow or orange plants grow best when temperatures are consistent in the ’70s and below the ’70s. If there is nastrutium in one area of the landscape, they may quickly germinate from seeds that have fallen to the ground. Plants can be grown in containers or in garden beds. In addition to offering a large autumn from spring colors, every part of the plant is…

Fort Lauderdale – New season, with sales. Sales have a fresh face with a drive to reach peaks. “I have some turnover each year, and I think that will be positive too,” the Florida Panthers said Friday, following the second day of training camp at Baptist Health Iceplex. “We’re going to add people who are excited to come here and be part of what we’re building.” Among the new faces who are excited to join the back-to-back Stanley Cup champion and seek out the rare three-peat are forward Luke Kunin and defensive man Jeff Petry. Both players are looking for…
