Tallahassee – Florida’s unemployment rate rose to 3.7% in April. This is the third time this year. The Florida Department of Commerce released a report Friday showing an estimated 410,000 people lost jobs from their 11.203 million workforce in April. The 3.7% rate rose from 3.6% in February and March. Prices in January were 3.5%, up from 3.4% in December. It was 3.3% in April 2024. The number of eligible people unemployed increased 7,000 in April, 46,000 more than in April 2024, the report shows.
