OCKEYCHOBEE, Fla. (WFLA) – Three people died Sunday after separate shootings in Okeechobee, which authorities say are linked. According to NBC’s affiliate WPTV, the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in the Brindavan forest community around 1:30pm On the scene, deputies said they met a man wearing all black men and armed with something that looked like a rifle or a long gun. Lawmakers told reporters that the suspects began firing gunfires at them, which led to the suspect’s death. Tallahassee – The International Genetic Engineer Machinery (IGEM) team at Florida State University has fired curiosity in the STEM field using synthetic biology, attracting international attention at major biotechnology events this summer. Venice, Fla. (WFLA) – Police are investigating after seeing a man step into the waters of Venice Beach after being found lowered near the coast. The Venice Police Department said officers and fire rescue responded to the beach before 11am on Saturday after reports of the drowning. Witnesses reported seeing the victim, 47-year-old Wesley Wilcox, put a bag in the sand and enter the water, VPD said. He was alone at the time of the incident. Deputies said the family had recently moved to a new residence in Magnolia Pond Circle and had unpacked them when 5-year-old Jalen Santerian realized he went missing around 3:15pm on Saturday.
