(WFLA) — A man has been rescued after the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee (FWC) discovers officers are clung to a kayak that “barely barely over the water” overturned his head. TALHASSEE, Fla. (WFLA) – The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee (FWC) announced the winners of the 2025 Florida Python Challenge™ on Wednesday. The challenge is a 10-day competition depicting 934 participants from 30 provinces, including Canada, to support the conservation of the Everglades. MIAMI – The owner and captain of a scuba charter boat in South Florida have been sentenced to more than eight years in federal prison for lying to the US Coast Guard and fraudulently obtaining a Covid-19 relief fund. US District Judge Irene M. Cannon sentenced Dustin Sean McCabe, 50, to 100 months in prison. LOUDERDALE, Fla. (WFLA) – A celebratory trip to Florida ended in a tragedy when a 14-year-old girl was killed and her 16-year-old sister was seriously injured in a personal crash on a ship. NBC affiliate WTVJ reported that the girls slammed the ship into a waterway dock within the Fort Lauderdale waterway around 3:30pm on Tuesday. TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A central Florida-based vacation rental company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this month. NBC’s affiliate WBBH reported that its IPG franchise is facing increasing numbers of lawsuits. Investors are now purchasing contracts to manage vacation rentals while processing payments.
