JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) – A Jacksonville man was arrested Wednesday. Officials said he wrote a comment on a social media post saying he “plows” a group of anti-ice protesters with topping trucks. Deputies with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said “vigilant citizens” warned of “comments on comments.” It was posted in response to someone asking if protests would arise in Jacksonville, Tampa, or other major Florida cities. Protests against the Trump administration are being planned at more than 1,800 locations this weekend, including Tampa Bay.On Saturday, community organizers with a group called No Kings are holding demonstrations in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Largo and other countries to protest what they say is “authoritarian excess and corruption” from President Donald Trump and his allies. “On June 14th, we’re showing up where he isn’t. A state employee who leaked plans to develop nine Florida State Parks with golf courses, hotels and other amenities alleges in a new lawsuit that Gov. Ron DeSantis retaliated against him. Whistleblower James Gaddis claims in the lawsuit that he was “differently treated and retaliated” by DeSantis, former director of Florida Environmental Protection Agency Sean Hamilton, and DeSantis, Director Jake Vick, after releasing information about the secret plan. BOCA GRANDE, Fla. (WFLA) – He was taken to hospital Wednesday after suffering obvious shark bites underwater on a beach in southwestern Florida. Authorities said the incident occurred near the 2200 block of Shore Lane in Boca Grande, a small cost community on Gasparilla Island.
