Their number is 143 million. That’s the number of tourists visiting the state in 2025, according to Visit Florida estimates. The Sunshine State has bucked the national trend of declining tourism.

“This year was another record year for our state’s tourism industry,” Governor DeSantis’ office said in a statement.

According to Visit Florida, 33.5 million visitors visited the state in the final quarter of 2025, the highest number of visitors in the fourth quarter ever.

Who has visited this state the most?

Preliminary estimates suggest that 131.1 million Americans will travel to Florida in 2025, with domestic travelers accounting for 91.5% of all visitors.

International visitors reached 9.3 million, and Canadian visitors totaled 2.9 million. This is consistent with historical trends where travel to Canada accounts for approximately 2% of all visitors.

Florida also continues to see growth from major international markets, with significant increases from Latin American countries such as Brazil and Argentina, as well as European markets such as the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands.

Brazil currently ranks second among international tourists visiting the state. Visit Florida remains focused on growing international visitor numbers through strategic marketing efforts.

Other tourist highlights include:

Preliminary estimates are 33.5 million total visitors (direct travel) to Florida in the fourth quarter of 2025 (Q4), an increase of +0.6% from Q4 2024 and a record high for the fourth quarter.

The number of domestic visitors in the fourth quarter of 2025 is estimated at 30.31 million, and the number of international visitors at 3.2 million.

Domestic visitors accounted for 90.5% of the total number of visitors, and overseas visitors accounted for 9.5%.

Total in-flight passenger traffic at Florida’s 19 airports in Q4 2025 was 27.4 million, an increase of +2.8% from Q4 2024.

2025 calendar

Preliminary estimates are that the total number of visitors (individual travelers) to Florida in calendar year 2025 (CY) was 143.3 million, an increase of +0.2% from 2024.

Domestic visits accounted for 91.5% of total visitors in 2025, up slightly from 91.4% the previous year. Meanwhile, in line with past visitation records, international visits accounted for 6.5% and visits from Canada accounted for 2.0%.

The number of domestic visitors in 2025 is estimated at 131.1 million, an increase of +0.3% compared to 2024. The number of international visitors is estimated at 9.3 million, and the number of visitors from Canada is estimated at 2.9 million.

In Florida, all five of the top countries of foreign origin experienced year-over-year growth. Brazil has increased by 10.4% from 2024, Argentina has increased by 17.8% and Spain is among the top 10 countries with a 10.4% increase in visitor numbers.

Preliminary estimates indicate that the air/nonair share of domestic travelers in 2025 will be 35.8% / 64.2%, making the proportion of people traveling to Florida by air smaller than in 2024.
