Today, US leader Anna Paulina Luna (FL-13) has introduced the “American Privacy Repair Act.” If enacted, the law would completely abolish the US Patriot Act, commonly known as the “Patriot Act.”
“For over 20 years, fraudsters within the U.S. intelligence reporting agency have used the Patriot Act to create the most sophisticated and inexplainable surveillance devices in the Western world,” said Rep. Luna. “My law removes the deep state of these tools and protects all Americans’ Fourth Amendment against unreasonable searches and seizures. It’s past time to curb intelligence reporting agencies and restore privacy rights.

The US Patriot Act, passed just a month after the September 11 attack, granted federal agencies extensive authority to collect personal data, carry out surveillance and detain individuals with limited judicial surveillance. Since its inception, there have been numerous reports of whistleblowers regarding ramp-stretched abuse of the Patriot Act’s authority by the US Intelligence Reporting Agency.
