Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – Florida travelers can get discount fares on their Amtrak trips for a limited time.
Amtrak is lowering the price of car train fares. The train takes passengers and their cars from Lawton, Virginia, just outside Washington, DC to Sanford, Florida.
“Whether you’re heading south for sunshine, beaches, theme parks or exploring many destinations in the northeast, car trains are the perfect way to get there.
Breeze Airways will add a new non-stop flight from Tampa this summer
Tickets start at $39 for adults and $19.50 for children.
Travelers must book tickets between Tuesday, March 18th and Wednesday, March 26th. The discount applies on travel days from March 19th to July 31st.
According to Amtrak, the route saves travelers 900 miles of driving, gasoline and wear.
