TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida man was found dead after wandering on a train at the Mount Washington Summit, the Fish and Game Law Enforcement Department in New Hampshire told WMUR.
Authorities said they had been searching for 79-year-old William Davis of Jacksonville since Wednesday evening.
Fish and Game officials said they were notified about Davis wandering around Mount Washington’s summit after taking the Cog train to the summit.
Davis’ wife told authorities that her husband was last seen near the observation deck around 3:20pm

His body was found near the southeast side of the summit on Friday, WMUR reported.
Officials told the news station that Davis and his wife took photos at the Visitor Center Sign, and Davis went to the trail.
The lawyer said a 15-year-old boy was temporarily detained at Alligator Alcatraz.
Davis reportedly spoke to a state park employee over the phone after appearing to have gotten lost from the trail. Officials said they were able to explain his surroundings until his phone lost power.
Fish and Game crews said they searched the area until 2am and resumed the search around 6am
“Really, all we know is that he wasn’t going to hike, but for some reason he went on a hiking trail. Why no one knows.”
The news station reported that it was not clear how Davis died.
