PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. (WFLA) – Pembroke Pines police were arrested Monday after saying they grabbed a machete, stabbed an air conditioner and then attacked his mother.
Darrell Dean Roberts, 38, against the February 24 attack at his home in the Ensantada community on Southwest 190 Avenue and 15th Avenue in NBC 6 South Florida and Southwest 190 Avenue and 15th Avenue. He was charged with attempted murder for two counts.

According to arrest reports, the air conditioning mechanic was working from home and helped to run the washing machine in the garage. However, when Roberts’ mother asked to help the repairman, officials said he refused.
“My mother told my son, the suspect, to help the repairman actually do something. Well, this didn’t happen,” Yalile Nader told NBC 6.
Once both were out, the mechanic went to the work truck and Roberts reported that he grabbed a machete from the trunk, attacked the repairman and cut his arm.
Police say Roberts tried to stab the mechanic again but missed it. Later, when Roberts’ mother came outside, the repairman began running towards the house.
According to arrest reports, his mother tried to intervene. Detectives say witnesses saw Roberts stabbing his mother and calling 911.
The report said the mother suffered serious injuries to her face, head, neck, arms and hands, and she needed to amputate one of her hands. She was flying to the trauma center in a dangerous condition.
Roberts had blood on his face, hands, feet and clothes when he was taken into custody, authorities said. He was later booked to prison, and on Tuesday a judge ordered him to be held without being held.
Police said the mechanic’s injuries were serious and medical care was needed, but he was expected to be fine.
