CASSELBURY, Fla. (WFLA) – A man who was already facing prison life for child sexual abuse is accused of killing a police detective, prosecutor and a minor victim, and attempting to kill a minor victim in connection with his case.
According to NBC affiliate WESH, 24-year-old Tarilvan has been in the Seminole County Jail since May last year as he awaits trial for sexually abusing a child under the age of 12.
Wesh informed that Vann used a coded message for each target, provided BMW as payment, and communicated with someone he believed was a hitman.
Investigators told reporters that Van planned to kill detective Alta Monte Springs, who is investigating his case by attaching a pipe bomb to a remote controlled vehicle. However, the Hitman was actually a secret Seminole County Sheriff’s deputy.
In addition to the original charges, Van is currently charged with three solicitations to commit the planned murder and one solicitation of restraint with an eyewitness.
Each charge will allow for life sentences in prison.
