TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A cruise ship carrying 158 passengers and crew members who docked the norovirus in Florida on Saturday.
The Dutch American Eurodam returned to the Port Everglades after a 10-day trip through the Caribbean.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention began monitoring the outbreak of norovirus on ships on February 23rd. The CDC report states that 2,057 passengers (148 out of 7%) are ill. The disease affected 10 of the 834 crew, or 1.2%.
People affected by the disease have been reported to experience vomiting and diarrhea, which was determined to be caused by norovirus.
In response to the outbreak, the cruise line reported that it had consulted with health officials to isolate sick passengers, increase disinfection procedures and monitor spread spread of illness.
The recent outbreak of the Holland America Line is the fifth outbreak of cruise ship Norovirus, tracked by the CDC this year. Rotterdam, the Netherlands, USA, docked in Florida on February 14th with 169 norovirus patients.
