In a related incident, Victoria police are investigating a new assault on two women in the Hijab in Melbourne.
New South Wales (NSW) police arrested a 53-year-old woman on February 15 after six months of anti-Arab graffiti.
The woman scribbled messages like “All Arabs are terrorists” was charged with nine counts of property that caused damage, including the toilet at Hornsby Westfield Shopping Centre and the Combank Stadium in Parramatta.
She was granted bail in Parramatta District Court on February 16th.
The court is allegedly committed crimes at both locations between July last year and this weekend.
The suspicious behavior was caught up in CCTV, according to a police statement.
Repeated incidents and offensive graffiti
The woman is said to have used black text to write her message at Westfield Hornsby in July.
On August 17th, she said, “Islam is not a religion, it’s a cult of demons. Muslims (let) to Palestine.”
The message continued. “Muslims are terrorists and need to (exp) from our country.”
Over the next few months, she is said to have returned to the same shopping centre and wrote variations of anti-Arab and anti-Muslim comments, such as “If you want to support your dog, go to Palestine.”
She also scribbled a similarly styled message on the black text public toilet door at Commbank Stadium on February 15th.
Reproach and seek action
Islamophobia Registration Australia has expressed anger over the incident.
“The language of this graffiti is filled with unfounded stereotypes, racial slander, and inflammatory statements designed to sow division, fear and hatred. Such actions are Not only is it a violation of Australia’s value of inclusion, respect and coexistence,” the spokesman told the Epoch Times.
Executive Director Nora Amus said, “Hate speech and Islamophobia, like all forms of racism, must be clearly condemned at all levels. These incidents have led to the fact that all Australians are racially opposed. It serves as a convening to action to unite against discrimination, prejudice and intolerance.”
Police investigate Melbourne related incidents
Meanwhile, in a related incident, Victoria police are investigating a new attack in Melbourne on two women in the Hijab.
Victoria police say the 30-year-old from Larole and 26-year-old Wollert, from 1:10pm to 1:20pm on February 13 by the same assailant at an Epping Shopping Center on High Street. It is being done.
Investigators were told that both victims were attacked by a woman and then left on foot with the man. Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing, including “whether these are assaults motivated by bias.”
