However, the coalition is about the fact that workers’ renewable energy-only policies are pushing up the cost of living.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will provide $25 million (US$15.5 million) in taxpayer dollars for a new solar scheme for a New South Wales (NSW) apartment.
Together with the Labour Mins government, the “Solar for apartment residents” incentive allocates funds to owner companies and hierarchical managers.
These owners apply for government grants to install these shared solar systems in their apartments. The government covers 50% of the cost up to $150,000 per project.
Albanese said the program is suitable for families and the environment and will help apartment residents save $600 on electricity bills.
“That’s why we’re working with the Mins government to encourage the use of solar panels and help people to significantly reduce the costs of electricity bills.”
Albanese announced the initiative outside Ashfield, among Glenler voters.
Funds will be available until December 1, 2025 or until all funds have been exhausted.
Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen said the government wanted to make it cheaper and easier for all Australians to install rooftop solar.
“Whether it’s a home or an apartment, everyone should be able to take advantage of cleaner and cheaper solar,” he said.
“In the past, it has been difficult for apartment residents to enjoy the benefits of cleaner and cheaper solar, but labor is helping households overcome these barriers and drive more Australian homes with renewable energy.”
The Albanese Labour Government’s solar bank scheme, which fully funds the project, is managed by the NSW government.
NSW’s Minister of Climate Change and Energy Penny Sharp said solar should be available to everyone.
“The program removes barriers to renewable energy in units and apartments, making solar easy and affordable,” Sharp said.
“We look forward to launching this initiative in NSW and are excited to make solar more accessible and affordable for many of the apartments.”
The Union aims to be a renewable energy-only strategy for workers
Meanwhile, the coalition that helps add nuclear energy to the energy mix has recently criticised the cost-of-living workforce and linked it to renewables.
Senator Matt Canavan recently said Australia has “the craziest energy policy in the world” and that the country is buying solar panels from China.
“We’re just going to buy what China makes of coal (like solar panels) and establish further energy poverty and dependence. It’s not necessary to do this. If we build a coal fired power plant, we can pull the power source down again.”
On February 26, opposition leader Peter Dutton also said Australians are paying more for gas and electricity for workers’ renewable energy policies.
Dutton toured local businesses in western Sydney, owned by Joe, who struggles with power generation prices.
“Because of the government’s reckless renewable energy-only energy policy, it’s why they’re paying more for their gas. That’s why Australian families really, really struggle. ”
Shadow Climate Change Minister Ted O’Brien accused Bowen of “refusing to appear” in local communities on February 28th to discuss competing policies for Australia’s energy future.
O’Brien recently urged workers to stop promoting renewable energy-only energy policies.
“If the government makes a mistake with its energy policy, it will ultimately be paid by customers like you and me.
