Pam Bondi has pledged to release files related to Epstein, a convicted sex offender.
The FBI withheld the files related to it because of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Attorney General Pam Bondy said on February 27th.
“I repeatedly questioned whether this was the complete set of documents that corresponded to my request, and was repeatedly assured by the FBI that I received the complete set of documents. Late yesterday, I learned from a source that the FBI Field Office in New York owns thousands of pages of documents related to Epstein’s investigation and prosecution,” wrote Bondy.
“Despite my repeated requests, the FBI did not reveal the existence of these files. When you and I spoke yesterday, you were as surprised as I learned this new information.”
Bondi said the FBI must deliver all Epstein-related files to her office by 8am on February 28th.
“There are no withholding or restrictions on me or your access,” she said.

The FBI’s National Press Office did not respond to requests for comment, and the FBI’s New York City office did not receive calls or return voicemails.
In 2008, Epstein was convicted of procuring minors for prostitution. He was awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges when it was discovered he had died in a New York City prison in 2019. Authorities determined that he committed suicide by death.
Some of the allegedly allegedly conspirators of Epstein have been avoided being named and are now publicly available to seek their identity, along with other information related to Epstein.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FLA.) is one of the most vocal MPs who advocate for this information to be made public.
Investigation order
Bondi also directed Patel to immediately begin an investigation into why her orders to the FBI were not compliant.
“You will deliver me a comprehensive report on your discoveries and proposed personnel actions within 14 days,” she writes. “It immediately pays attention to this important issue.
“We know that both are committed to American transparency and we look forward to continuing to work with you to serve our president and our country.”
During his confirmation, when asked whether he would direct investigators to investigate Epstein’s case further, Patel said he would.
“Child sex trafficking has no place in the United States. If you are confirmed as an FBI director, if you make sure that the American people know the full weight of what has happened in the past, I will do it all,” he said.
