Fighted Fire Festival founders announce redo event after the original accident

Billy McFarland announced that “Fire Festival 2” will be held in Mexico this year after a disastrous attempt in 2017.

Following the tragic 2017 Fire Festival, founder Billy McFarland is about to give her second go-around at Feel Festival 2 this year.

On February 24th, McFarland announced that it will be held in Islam Geres, Quintanaru, Mexico from May 30th to June 2nd.
“Fyre 2 is a three-day escape to the Caribbean Sea in Mexico, where they gather together in the daytime with their favorite talents to explore and celebrate music,” he wrote in a news release posted to X.

The festival has acquired an exclusive ticket partnership with Soldout.com and Friendlysky, a platform that handles all operational liability, including hotels and travel.

Ticket prices and packages range from $1,400 to $25,000, while Prometheus VIP exclusive VIP packages cost $1.1 million.
In stark contrast to what happened at the first Fire Festival, McFarland ensures participants guarantee “world-class accommodation and an unforgettable experience.”

“Fire 2 will host adventures led by international and local talent, taking guests on boundary-taking excursions during the day, uniting intimate beachside performances at night,” he writes.

It remains unclear who will proceed in the preliminary order at the festival.

Speaking to NBC’s “Today,” McFarland said he understands that he has failed once in the risks behind the event, but wants to turn all the outside chatter into something positive.

“I think most people get under the hood and study their plans and look at the team behind Feel 2 and they see the benefits,” he said.

“And if that goes well, I think Fyre has the opportunity to become this annual festival that truly takes over the festival industry.”

Fyre Festival 2017

McFarland gained notoriety in April 2017 after establishing the Severe Promotion Bahamas Music Festival, where failures saw widespread confusion, confusion, class action lawsuits and, ultimately, time at McFarland’s prison time.

Participants who spent thousands of dollars on tickets remained disappointed upon arrival when “luxury” accommodations, gourmet food, celebrity appearances, musical performances instead stayed in tent accommodation, cheese sandwiches, lack of security and the performers were promised to retreat.

In 2018, McFarland pleaded guilty to wire and bank fraud, making false statements to federal law enforcement and other fraud schemes from another event.

He was sentenced to six years in 2018 and admitted to scamming investors and customers from more than $26 million on “The Sky Promise” that he serves nearly four years before his release in March 2022.

At Fyre 2, a minimum of $500,000 will be directed to reparations from the festival. McFarland and his partners will direct 10% of the event’s total profit to repay.
