TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Tuesday that it will add a groundbreaking 30 miles of new lanes to Interstate 75 in central Florida .
The addition of a new lane that extends from Wildwood’s SR-44 to Ocala’s SR-326 aims to reduce traffic backup surrounding the area the Florida Turnpike splits from I-75.

“We moved forward Florida in 2023 and accelerated the road project with a focus on traffic mitigation. At least 20 major road projects have been promoted through the moving Florida Forward Initiative, which includes two in the Tampa Bay Area.
