The arts group vows to continue despite the threats.
This was the latest in the threats we faced over the past year as we set out on a global tour to showcase what was called “China before Communism.”
“It’s basically targeting the US government, society and everything we support,” Shen Yun’s host Leisha Remish told the Epoch Times.
Lemish called on the US government to “find this and try to find out who is actually behind it.”
“If you don’t stop at Shen Yun, you won’t stop with someone else. They’ll continue,” he said. “It’s (I’m going to) until we do something about it.”
Shen Yun was founded for a week’s performance in Washington when the fire alarm rang.
Alice Liu, a Shen Yun percussionist who has been with the company for 16 years, said that no one had time to grab her coat before being guided out of the building. They waited about three hours as police and dog units screened the area. Nothing was found dangerous.
“While waiting outside in the cold, I was thinking, ‘Wow, everyone would be dare to send bomb threats to the performing arts venues, basically the US National Cultural Center.” she said on February 21st. Press conferences in response to threat campaigns.

Thursday’s show went smoothly after police cleared the scene. The theater has increased security and installed metal detectors at the entrance as a precaution.
Shen Yun said he believes the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is behind the threat.
For many years, CCP has been trying to stop the group’s performance. This puts pressure on the theatre to cancel any scheduled shows and warns against attending around the world. The family of Chinese artist Shen Yun also faces constant harassment. Li, whose parents moved to the UK when he was little, told the Epoch Times that she was a school where Chinese police prepare Shenny Yun performers to her China-based relatives. He said he asked about attending university.
Lemish recalled that after one performance in Canberra, Australia, he and his host partner were stopped by several people when he and his host partner returned to the hotel. They said he was a member of the Congress and enjoyed the show.
“They said the whole Congress received a letter from the embassy (in China) saying, “Don’t look at Shen Yun,” Remish recalled the lawmakers told him.
Lemish said they told him. While we were on your show, we may have passed some laws. ”
While some of these duties have become “free advertising,” Remish said he has noticed that the tactics of the disruptors are evolving.

Lemish said the company has seen 18 threat emails since the tour began this year in December. They usually claimed that they were sent to the theatre on the morning of the show, and that there were bombs placed at the venue that set off as the show progressed.
Remish said the threat has not been realized and the show has not been cancelled.
Shen Yun doesn’t know how many people are involved in the campaign. According to a sample email shared by Shen Yun, theaters from various countries have received the same email at the same time from the same email address.

Lemish said Shen Yun performers are “100% determined” to continue performing.
For many performers, including himself, “their dream is to bring the show to China one day,” he told a news conference. “We’re still living that dream.”
The Kennedy Center show marked Remish’s first tour stop in Washington for the first time in 10 years.
He said he appreciated the support from the theatres and audiences and looked forward to 11 more shows at the venue.
Remish said Chinese agents were trying to scare people.
“Don’t win them,” he said.
