ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) – The 7-year-old died Tuesday after an on-track incident that occurred last weekend during a junior drug race.
According to a Draggin article, Elienis Diaz concluded his first turn with a junior dragstar event at Orlando Speed World Drugway, which crashed on Saturday.
The GoFundMe page for the Family confirmed that Elienis fought for her life before her death at 10:54pm on Tuesday.
Orlando Speed World commented on the death of the young girl in a Facebook post, saying she was “deeply heartbroken by the tragic incident.”
“Motorsport is based on passion, but moments like these remind us of the risks that come with things we love,” Drug Strip wrote on social media. “The injury can heal, but the pain of the loss is immeasurable.”
