Tampa (WFLA), Florida -Public Service Committee will vote on Tuesday to raise the price of Duke Energy with Tampa Electric Company (TECO).

On December 27, 2024, both TECO and Duke Energy submitted a petition for a limited lawsuit for the authority to request a provisional storm recovery claim.

According to reports, TECO is not only trying to collect $ 4633.6 million for repair costs related to Hurricane Idalia, Debby, Helene, and Milton, but also refill storm reserve.

Customers were able to see the cost of recovery storms 60 days after the cost collection and tariffs were submitted.

According to reports, TECO demanded a 12 -month recovery period applied to all customer bills starting with the first billing cycle in March 2025.

If approved, TECO customers can further see $ 30 per month on the invoice.

According to the Public Service Committee, Duke Energy is trying to recover the restoration cost of restoration costs related to Hurricane Debbie, Helen and Milton.

$ 190 million includes unpaid interest from Hurricane Debbie.

Collection of storms may start on a provisional base 60 days after the petition is submitted.

According to the Public Service Committee, Duke Energy demanded a 12 -month recovery period applied to all bills from March 2025 to February 2026.
