Cold STUN -like sea turtle treated in a florida aquarium

The unusually cold state of Florida brought snow and sleet last week in the northwestern part of Florida.

Many people were delighted, used snowman battles, sedios, and even mini -snowmen, but the rare snow was permanently influenced the green sea turtles along the east coast. 。

Last week, 18 cold STUN humiliated turtles were rescued from the frigid sea near St. Ogastin, and later photographed at the rehabilitation center of the florida aquarium near the tampa.

The green sea turtle was initially treated at a sea turtle hospital in UF Whitney Lab, and the temperature was very low.

When these newcomers arrive at the aquarium, there are currently 29 turtles under critical care.

What does that mean when the sea turtles get cold?

Florida aquariums are strengthening rescue and rehabilitation efforts to save the waves of a green sea turtle growing cold from the frigid sea off the east coast of Florida near St. Ogastin.

The cold amazing is a state of threatening life caused by long -term exposure to cold water.

When growing cold, the sea turtles become lethargic, cannot swim, and remain vulnerable to hypothermia and malnutrition.

According to the National Maritime Bureau, this condition generally occurs when the water temperature falls below 50 degrees.

Florida aquarium hopes that a colder turtle will arrive.

Florida aquariums are increasing rescue and rehabilitation initiatives, as they are expected to bring more patients between the ongoing cold spells.

“This week’s serious cold and attractive event is combined with a decrease in rehabilitation ability of other rehabilitation facilities along the west coast of Florida due to recent hurricanes, and resources to save these endangered ediogen animals. We emphasize the need for urgent expansion. “
