More than 1,200 turtles released after being rescued from cold water

Joe, Port St. Florida -Florida fish wildlife protection committee (FWC) and wildlife research institute have returned over 1,200 turtles to water.

With the cold temperature of Northern Florida, the FWC reported over 1,200 turtles that fell into a cold shock from January 21 to January 26.

Most of them were green turtles, but some were logger heads. Most were found alive, transported to the Gulf World Marine Research Institute, and gained the help of turtles.

According to the FWC, it is not unusual to have a cold and STUN turtle when there is a cold climate.

Unreleased remaining turtles continue to be warm at the laboratory and will be released on January 31.
