(WFLA) -The Tampa City Council members will receive a report on the rainwater system in the Tampa, Florida.

In some areas in the city, an unprecedented flood was seen in 2024.

During Hurricane Milton, many zone X areas and areas without flood zones were flooded, leading to those who want an answer.

During the hurricane, the water level rose and the house was destroyed even in areas where floods were not expected.

“Of course, I’m upset, I lost a lot,” said a resident.

“When Milton came, it was flooded throughout the backyard, so much in the whole room, and their things were floating,” said another person.

The Forest Hills community is not in the flood zone or Zone X, but is flooded from the hurricane.

“They said Forest Hills was not a flood zone, so what happened to the pump?”

What happened in the pump was a matter of everyone’s heart.

“There was one generator on one of the Forest Hills pumps. All of these pumps were on Teco Power,” said Mayor Jane Castor. “Teco Power came out, and those pumps stopped at that time. I kicked the generator here, but I didn’t do that, but these were a storm of historical nature. “

This report, which is discussed on Thursday morning, is the result of an audit from a rainwater pump in the city.

It is hoped that the maintenance of the pump required for the storm emergency is insufficient.

Mayor Jane Caster said that the storm experienced by the tumper was important.

“There is no rainwater system in the world to take care of it,” Casters said.

At a previous meeting, Luis Viera, a member of the council, demanded an independent investigation, and the movement passed unanimously.

“This doesn’t happen every day. This doesn’t mean we spent a few more dollars on the project or something, and the residents are shocked what happened,” Viera says. Ta. “We are borrowing them outside the internal things that the city is doing.”

The meeting started at 9 am
