Brevard principal, teacher arrested after underage house party

Cocoa Beach Police have charged Roosevelt Elementary School Principal Elizabeth Hill Brodigan, 47, with child neglect after a recent house party that ended with more than 100 teenagers and a boy in need of medical care. Teacher Carly Anderson was arrested on child neglect charges. According to arrest reports, officers responded to Hillbrodigan’s home on Jan. 19 after a reported large party on Country Club Road. did.

Brevard County Fire Rescue personnel had to use the vehicle’s auxiliary lights to provide care to the teenager when Hill-Brodigan turned off all exterior lights upon arrival, according to the report. did. Officers reported that many of the teens, who were wearing matching T-shirts, were consuming alcohol, which they later learned was available in a cooler at the residence.

Following a nearby traffic stop, the juvenile was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Teachers and principals each file child neglect claims.

Police identified the intoxicated woman at the scene as Carly Anderson, a Roosevelt elementary school teacher.

After interviewing the teenager and his parents, officers arrested Anderson and Hill Brodigan on charges of child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Anderson was booked into the Brevard County Jail and later released on a $3,000 bond. Hill-Brodigan was booked and released on $3,500 bond.

Elizabeth Hill Brodigan has worked as a multi-grade teacher at Freedom 7 Elementary School in Cocoa Beach and as principal at Oak Park Elementary School in Titusville and Ocean Breeze Elementary School in Indian Harbor Beach. , served in various roles in Brevard Public Schools. She also received Teacher of the Year honors.

Anderson has taught in Brevard Public Schools since 2006, according to his LinkedIn professional history.

A spokesperson for Brevard Public Schools did not return a request for comment as of Friday.
