BONIFAY, Fla. (WFLA) – Drivers in Florida faced unusual danger Tuesday as large amounts of snow began to fall in the Panhandle.
Snowfall made roads slick and many law enforcement agencies across the state warned drivers to stay home for their safety.

By 6 p.m. Tuesday, Holmes County deputies said they had responded to 10 accidents in which vehicles slid into ditches in just 45 minutes.
One of the cars was a sheriff’s deputy’s patrol car.
“Despite our training, these icy roads are proving difficult,” the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office said in a social media post.
Okaloosa County deputies also reported that the winter weather made some roads in the county impassable and caused numerous traffic accidents.
Forecasters predicted up to 6 inches of snow could fall in some parts of the state.
“Please take this as a serious warning to stay off the roads unless it’s an absolute emergency. If you’re thinking, ‘I’m fine,’ trust me, it’s not like that. There is no such thing.” “Stay home, stay warm, and leave the mess here to us.”
