President-elect Donald Trump will be officially sworn in as the 47th President of the United States today.

Trump will be sworn in as president for the second time at the inauguration ceremony in Washington, D.C., along with Vice President-elect J.D. Vance.

Here’s a look at when the inaugural ceremony will begin and what its schedule will look like.

What is Inauguration Ceremony? Event Definition

Donald Trump and J.D. Vance have rejected a bipartisan agreement to prevent a government shutdown while thousands of federal workers face furloughs.

According to USA.gov, Inauguration Day is the day the president-elect and vice president-elect are sworn into office.

Inauguration ceremonies are typically held on January 20th (or January 21st if January 20th falls on a Sunday) every four years. The inauguration ceremony will be held inside the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. due to the extremely cold weather.

What time does the inauguration start today, Inauguration Day?

The swearing-in ceremony begins today at noon (Eastern time).

How to watch Donald Trump and J.D. Vance’s inauguration on Inauguration Day

Donald Trump and J.D. Vance appeared at a rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan on July 20, shortly after the 2024 Republican National Convention, where they were nominated for president and vice president, respectively.

Major broadcast networks including ABC, CBS, CNN, CSPAN, Fox News, MSNBC, NBC, and PBS will broadcast live coverage of the inauguration.

In addition to the White House Live Stream and the NewsNation app, you can also live stream the inauguration through streaming services that offer broadcast networks such as Hulu, YouTube TV, and Sling TV.

USA TODAY will livestream the event. Click here to watch.

Who will perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration?

Carrie Underwood performs in concert at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso on Wednesday, March 20, 2024.

Country star Carrie Underwood will sing “America the Beautiful,” a spokesperson for the Presidential Inaugural Committee confirmed to USA TODAY. The country singer performs with the Armed Forces Choir and the U.S. Naval Academy Glee Club.

“I love this country and was honored to be asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood told USA TODAY in a statement. “I am humbled to answer this call at a time when we all need to come together in a spirit of unity and look to the future.”

Country singer Lee Greenwood will perform his hit song “God Bless the USA” at Monday’s inauguration, he confirmed on Fox News Wednesday. He previously performed at President Trump’s first inauguration in 2017.

Other performers include opera singer Christopher Macchio and the Village People, who will sing the national anthem at the swearing-in ceremony.

What is the theme for the 2025 presidential inauguration?

According to the Congressional Joint Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, the theme of the 60th Inaugural Ceremony is “Our Enduring Democracy: Our Constitutional Promise.”

This theme “recognizes the founders’ commitment to future generations of Americans to maintain the continuity and stability of our democratic system of government.”
