Hallmark Channel will film holiday movies at locations around Walt Disney World next year, the companies announced. The film, starring Lacey Chabert, is titled “Holiday Ever After: Disney World’s Wishes Come True” and is scheduled to air in late 2026.
The storyline sees Chabert’s character go on a family trip to Disney World during the holiday season. As fate would have it, the two end up staying at a resort next door to a man (played by Travis Van Winkle of YOU and FUBAR) who failed on their first date. Although not many details have been revealed, it involves Cinderella’s wish at the fountain.
The project was announced by Chabert during the broadcast of “The Hallmark Christmas Experience: A Hometown Holiday.”
“I love visiting here with my family, and I always thought it would be the perfect setting for a Hallmark Christmas movie,” Chabert said, surrounded by Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse at the Magic Kingdom.
Chabert has appeared in over 40 Hallmark productions. Other actors slated to appear in Disney Hallmark movies include Richard Kind (“Only Bill Murders,” “Inside Head,” “A Bug’s Life”), Christy Carlson Romano (“Kim Possible,” “Even Stevens”), and Bryce Durfee (“General Hospital”).
“We’re thrilled that Walt Disney World will be the setting for Hallmark’s immersive holiday films that highlight the joyous festivities of the season,” Sally Connor, vice president of global content, said in a news release. “Countless unique stories unfold at our theme parks, resorts and beyond, creating new memories with our guests every day. This film is a great way to share that joy and pixie dust with our fans around the world.”
This is the first original film collaboration between the two companies, but they have a common history.
“Hallmark and Disney’s partnership goes back decades, when the Kansas City connection and friendship shared by Hallmark founder J.C. Hall and Walt Disney himself led to our first licensed products, including the first greeting card featuring Mickey Mouse,” Darren Abbott, Hallmark’s chief brand officer, said in a news release.
“We’re excited to extend our relationship on screen beyond the products we create together with this heartwarming and entertaining Christmas film that embodies the best of both brands,” he said.
Naturally, related products will also appear. Disney says it’s a “collection of Disney and Hallmark products inspired by the movies,” including ornaments, greeting cards, gift wrap and more.
