TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Low-pressure areas are causing disrupted rain and thunderstorms off the coast of the southern US coast, the National Hurricane Center said.

Over the next few days, the system is expected to move west-southwest to the north-central portion of the Gulf Coast.

Environmental conditions can occur slowly as the system moves to the north-central part of the Gulf Coast.

According to the NHC, the system is expected to move inland by the weekend, with development opportunities coming to an end.

The next day, heavy rains could be found in parts of Florida through the northern Gulf until this weekend.

The chance of formation in the next 48 hours is 10%, and 10% for the next 7 days.

Watch track the tropical Tuesday at 12:30pm (11:30pm ET) CT
