NEW YORK (AP) – Samsung introduced several updates to its lineup of foldable devices on Wednesday. The new Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, and New Z Flip 7 FE were set in their latest release events.
The Korean electronics company has announced upgrades in New York, including new versions of their watches, but has also announced an expanded partnership with Google to inject more artificial intelligence into its foldable lineup.
Here are the biggest announcements from this summer’s unpacked event:
Thinner Galaxy Z Folding 7
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is much thinner and lighter than its predecessor, with a thickness of 0.17 inches when unfolded and folded at 0.17 inches thick.

He also weighs just under half a pound. This is an impressive feat considering the company has increased the total screen size from the folded fold. Currently, it is 6.5 inches on the external screen and 8 inches on the internal screen.
The battery capacity remains the same as the previous generation. However, unlike previous generation fold devices, this does not support the company’s digital stylus.
The 200 megapixel camera serves as the main capture and as a 10 megapixel camera that stretches along the frame of your phone, it allows users to quickly capture wide shots.
The Fold 7 will start at $1,999. Pre-orders begin today, with the device hitting the shelves on July 25th.
Galaxy Z Flip 7 gets bigger
The foldable flipperable cot has a 4.1-inch top screen that enlarges and folds the clamshell by just over half an inch. The inner display grows from 6.7 inches on the flip 6 to 6.9 inches.

It earns a slightly larger 4,300mAh battery and maintains a 50-megapixel main camera and a 10-megapixel front camera.
A new, cheaper version of the phone, called the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, was also announced today. A slightly smaller version of the premium counterpart (holds a folded 6.7-inch screen size).
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 retails for $1,099.99, while the Flip 7 FE starts at $899.99. Pre-orders for both devices begin on Wednesday, with both generally available on July 25th.
Updated Watch 8 Series
The Galaxy Watch Ultra, Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic are all refreshed with a variety of updates, including memory, thickness, and design, but the main point of today’s event is that Google’s Gemini AI is preloaded to your device. Users can access AI by talking to the clock.
AI penetrates all devices
Rick Osterloh, senior vice president of Google’s devices and services, appeared in the video that was featured in the pre-recorded video, and announced that the search engine’s AI mode will be used in Samsung’s circles, search functionality will be used, allowing users to create quick queries by tapping or turning things around on the screen. Gemini will also be further integrated with the base Samsung device app, including calendars and reminders.
