Harvard sues the US government for blocking foreign students registration
Harvard University is suing the US government after blocking the ability to register international students at the university and calling it a “blatant violation” of the law.
The Department of Homeland Security argued that Harvard University had revoked access to international students’ enrollment and that the prestigious Ivy League University had not done enough to fight anti-Semitism.
Harvard, among other US universities, has been criticized for student protests over Israel’s response to the October 7, 2024 Hamastero attack.

Trump announces “Golden Dome” missile defense system
On May 20, President Donald Trump announced a new $175 billion plan to build a Golden Dome defense system aimed at thwarting the threat of the “next generation.”
It was designed by Lockheed Martin and modeled as an upgrade to the Israeli Iron Dome defense system following the threat “continuing to expand its scale and refinement.”
The company described it as the world’s most powerful missile defense network, and described it as being able to intercept threats from space from all over the world.
Canada is also in discussions with the US in hopes of participating in the project.

Kennedy’s Make America Healthy releases its first report again
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has released a Presidential Commission to identify many factors behind the chronic disease crisis in childhood, in order to make America healthier again.
Among them are inadequate diet, exposure to harmful environmental chemicals, including pesticides, partial lack of physical activity due to overuse of screens, and overmed medical care.
The report points to a shift in the US diet to ultra-processed foods, which is rich in sugar and other chemicals and is far from fruit consumption.
President Donald Trump launched the executive order on February 13th, establishing the Make America Healthy Commission, submitting a 100-day strategy to prepare a report, followed by 180-day strategy.
