Formed a bright yellow sea, hundreds of Torontonians converged on Sunday at Nathan Phillips Square, wearing matching shirts, holding colorful banners and performing meditative exercises, part of traditional Chinese spiritual practice known as Falun Dafa.
Although it included a gathering on May 11th (including a VIP speech and a parade through downtown Toronto, a similar world Fernan DAFA Day festival will be Li’s birthday and birthday to mark the 33rd year since Falun Dafa was introduced to the Chinese public by founder Li Hongzhi in 1992.

Like in the past few years, this opportunity in Toronto featured marching bands, lion dances, choir singers and dancers in elegant costumes performing Chinese dance. It was organized by the community of Falun Gong practitioners in Toronto. Among those who fled from communist China due to religious persecution of the group
Finding freedom of faith in Canada, many Canadian city practitioners will host annual events, celebrate and raise awareness. The rally often includes speeches and greetings from government officials and community leaders, demonstrating their support.
“The Falun Dafa Movement has made a significant contribution to our country here in Canada and is trying to preserve the tradition, spirituality, culture and values of China.” Conservative MP Garnett Furth told the Epoch Times in an interview just before World’s Falun Dhafa Dei.
In contrast, “the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is deplorable,” Murun said.
“It is a serious violation of the fundamental norms of international law and human rights, and conservatives will continue to support human rights in China and everywhere in order to defend the recognition of the universal human dignity of all people,” Miss added.

“This practice is spreading all over the world,” Baxendale said in a speech at the rally. “As we know, this movement was suppressed by the Chinese Communist Party. It goes back to the late 90s.”

“But the key to understanding is that this is not a US issue,” Baxendale said. “This is a global issue and we need Canadian legislators to rise up and force massive oppression around the world to oppose China’s Communist Party’s oppression and cross-border oppression.”

Shen Xue, a well-known Chinese poet and journalist and Canadian vice-president of Canada’s Democratic China Federation, told attendees at the Larry: “The most frightening thing is that (CCP) systematically performed forced organ collections for Falun Gong practitioners.
“Falun Gong did not succumb to the oppression of totalitarianism, she said, but rather “started a major move to speak the truth, resist persecution, fight for religious freedom, and stand up to its mission to end the tyranny of the Communist Party of China.”
It is “the most tenacious, morally appealing and peaceful movement in human history,” Shen said.
Houqiang Yu, chairman of the Chinese Democrats’ Canadian Committee, was another supporter who spoke to him.
“I see everyone’s efforts here and believe that one day we, the true Chinese, will live freely…the true essence of truth, compassion and tolerance,” he said.
“When that day comes, when the Chinese do not terrify under the communist regime, we will have real freedom,” Yu added. “I hope we all work together towards that day.”
Joel Chipkul, president of the Canadian Association of Associations, expressed his gratitude to the founder of Falun Gong, discussing how spiritual faith benefited its practitioners.
“What began as a quiet spiritual practice based on the principles of truth, compassion and tolerance quickly spread to the profound, life-changing powers that touched millions of people around the world,” he said.
“What’s most exciting is the strength and resilience that Falun Gong has given to those who practice it,” he said. “In the face of misinformation and persecution, millions of people are solidifying their faith and responding with compassion and truth, not hatred.”
“Their story of endurance and forgiveness is a testament to the beacon of Falun Gong’s power and light in our world today,” Chipkal said.
