Cape Coral, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida man tried to steal a cash withdrawal at a McDonald’s restaurant after getting frustrated at a drive-thru, according to the Cape Coral Police Department.
Just after 4am on April 30th, officers responded to an ongoing robbery at the fast food chain on Del Prado Boulevard North. Witnesses reported that after the man and employee were caught up in a discussion, the man took off in a car trying to steal the register.

Surveillance video of the encounter showed a man identified as 32-year-old Bray Allen Bamberger talking to an employee near the register as the debate escalated.
Bamberger walked behind the counter and grabbed a relaxed cash withdrawal by the two employees, police said. Two employees were caught in the register by Bamberger until the suspect finally let go.
Officials said Bamberger continued his argument before he left McDonald’s in the car.
That night, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office identifies Bamberger and tracks him down to his Cape Coral home after taking fingerprints on the restaurant door and blew away photos on social media.

When authorities arrived at their home, a man inside told them he was hoping that police would come and find Bamberger based on a social media post.
Bamberger said he had no intention of stealing money, but he went through a drive-thru and was frustrated when he wasn’t getting help. That’s when he parked his car and went inside.
Police arrested Bamberger on charges of attempted robbery and two counts of battery. He was taken to the Lee County Jail.
