The 100 Florida Council says it’s time for NASA to move its headquarters to Florida.
More than 125 prominent business, academic and civic leaders have signed joint letters to Florida’s Congressional delegation, expressing their strong support of NASA headquarters in relocation from Washington, D.C. to Florida.
The letter, published by the 100 Florida Councils, positions it as a “one generation” who can bring economic benefits to the nation and support NASA’s position for its boldest future.
“Relocating NASA HQ to Florida will bring about leadership that is close to the mission-critical operations that define America’s future,” said Georgie Mew, chairman of the Florida 100 Council and chairman of Gunstar. “It’s not just for Florida. It’s a wise move in the country.”
Florida has been home to NASA facilities since 1962, with a strong aerospace infrastructure and talent pipeline. By linking NASA’s federal leadership with the Kennedy Space Center’s operational foundation, it can increase efficiency, save taxpayer money, advance innovation, and promote global competitiveness.
Florida’s key economic and strategic benefits include:

A proven aerospace ecosystem with over 700 companies and 140,000 skilled workers
Construction and utility costs have been significantly reduced compared to Washington, DC
AAA Credit Ratings and Tools for Fast and Cost-Effective Development
A top-ranked education system with deep connections to NASA and the space economy.
“Florida business leaders are deeply invested in our state’s future, and relocating NASA headquarters is a strategic opportunity to strengthen our economy, create high-value jobs and strengthen Florida’s position as a global leader in innovation.
