(WKBN) – The Ministry of Agriculture’s Food Safety Inspection Service has issued a public health warning for pork products after determining it could be contaminated with metals.
The alert affected pork Carnitas products produced by Cargill Meat Solutions from April 1-2 earlier this month, and is being sold at Aldi stores nationwide.
There is a 16-oz sleeve tray package with “Pork Carnitas seasoning and tataki pork cooked in citrus fruits and freshly baked pork” and an explanation for June 30, 2025 or July 1, 2025.

The problem was discovered during regular process checks when damaged equipment was found that could have been contaminated with metal pieces.
This product is no longer on sale, so there will be no recalls. However, FSI is concerned that some people may be in consumer refrigerators and freezers. Those who purchase these products will be encouraged to throw them away or return them, but do not consume them.
So far, no reports of injuries have been confirmed.
