Carl Vinson Strike Group is the fifth US airline to take part in an attack on Yemen’s Houthi region since January 2024.
Aircraft carrier USS Carlvinson and his escort warships reached the Arabian Sea amid a US strike campaign against Yemen and a threat of conflict with Iran.
Earlier this month, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell announced that the Vinson Career Strike Group had made an announcement to launch from the Indo-Pacific region to support the US Central Command in the Middle East.
Carl Vinson quickly made its presence known by working with aircraft airline USS Harry S. Truman to launch airstrikes in Yemen’s Huutis, a faction linked to Iran that the Trump administration recently redesigned as a terrorist organization.
Central Command released footage on April 14th, launching the F-35 Lighting and the F-18 Super Hornet Fighter Jet from Carrier.
The Navy has been circulating carrier strike groups through central operational areas since fall 2023 amid missile attacks on Israel and ships passing through ships.
Houthis in Yemen first launched its attack in October 2023 after terrorist group Hamas killed 1,200 people and led 250 tricks in southern Israel.

Since then, Israeli forces have fired the Gaza Strip, recovered hostages and carried out operations to dismantle Hamas.
Houthis, which claims solidarity with the Palestinian cause, has vowed to continue harassment attacks as long as Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip continue.
The Eisenhower Career Strike Group was the first to intercept an attack in the Red Sea transport lane.
In January 2024, the Career Group began strikes in areas managed by Houthi in Yemen.
By June, the Roosevelt Career Strike Group had circulated into the Red Sea region to replace the power of Eisenhower.
In August, a Lincoln Career Strike group arrived on the scene, replacing Roosevelt, departing Middle Eastern waterways in mid-November, leaving a gap just weeks before the Truman Navy arrived in December.
Houtis in Yemen paused its attack in January after it reached a ceasefire in which Hamas released 33 hostages as Israel and Hamas released 33 hostages in exchange for the return of more than 1,000 Palestinian prisoners owned by Israel and expanded access to humanitarian aid throughout Gaza.
Last month, when the ceasefire in Gaza shook, Yemeni Houtis threatened to resume its attacks.
By March 15, President Donald Trump had ordered US troops to resume strikes against Hooty targets across Yemen, and terrorist groups had resumed their attacks.
The arrival of the Vinson Group has provided the presence of the largest US fleet in the Middle East since October 2023.
While the Navy was gathering warships in the area, the Air Force also began shifting B-2 spirit stealth bombers to a forward base on Diego Garcia’s small Indian Ocean Island.
Since resuming offensive operations across Yemen, Trump has repeatedly linked a continuous Hooti attack to Iran, threatening that further outcomes could come to Tehran’s way.
If Tehran did not immediately accept a new contract that would limit its nuclear program, Trump threatened military action.
The two agreed to hold another consultation on April 19th.
