Tampa, Fla. (WFLA) – Appears to meander along Florida’s coastline.

The 11-foot, 761-pound “Dold” was scattered off the coast of Florida’s Gulf Coast on Monday, according to tracking data from OCEART, a site that represents sharks when traveling around the world.

Florida law enforcement has shut down “international child porn ring,” AG says

Dold was discovered off the coast of Vero Beach about a month ago and appears to have been heading towards the other side of the peninsula.

Researchers began tracking sub-adult white sharks on February 28, about 45 miles off the coast of the Florida Georgia State Line.

The shark was named Dold after Dr. Christopher Dold, the Chief Zoology Director at Seaworld. Dold (Shark) is part of the Ocean Western Western North Atlantic Shark Study.

“Tracking Dold gives us deeper insight into the movement, health, and its role in maintaining marine balance in white sharks,” the researchers wrote.

According to NOAA, great white sharks can grow up to 21 feet and 4,500 pounds. They can live more than 70 years ago.
