Four Central Florida restaurants and one food truck closed last week – Orlando Sentinel

Four Central Florida restaurants and food trucks closed for the week of March 16-22, according to Florida Business and Specialist Regulation data.

Dr. 5615 W. Colonial, Quick Restaurant closed Dr. Colonial in Orlando on March 18th. Inspectors found 15 violations. These violations included employees walking through the sewer to use the waiting station, French toast mix born with raw eggs on a container of pickles, and salmon pate held at the wrong temperature. The second test was conducted on the same day. Inspectors found 10 violations, but none of them have a high priority. The restaurant met the inspection criteria.

Hot Reggae Dogs 2, a food truck at 705 W., Colonial, of Orlando, was closed on March 19th. Inspectors discovered seven violations. These violations included cockroach activity, food at wrong temperatures, and raw eggs stored on mayonnaise. At the time of the announcement of this article, the food truck remains closed.

Seminole

Como En Casa Restaurant at 2960 WSR 426, Suite 1056 at Oviedo, closed on March 20th. Inspectors found 34 violations. These violations included MOP/wastewater discarded on the ground, larvae inside the soda gun, and cutting boards in front of reach fluids dirty with food debris. The inspector conducted his second test on March 21st. They discovered seven violations, only one of which was given priority. Authorities issued time extensions for food that are not commercially packaged. Restaurants require tracking tests, but do not pose a threat to the public.

Brevard

Rusty’s Seafood & Oyster Bar at 628 Glen Cheek Dr. in Cape Canaveral Shut Down Shot Shot Down Shot Down. Inspectors found 13 violations. Three of them were priorities. These violations included flying insects, mold-like substances on ice machines, and chemical candles stored in single service lid cases in dry storage rooms. The second test was conducted on the same day. There were no violations. The restaurant was urgent order compliant.

Volsia

Johnny Rockets at Daytona Beach, 250 N. Atlantic Ave. Suite 291, closed on March 20th. Inspectors found 12 violations. The second test was conducted on March 21st. There were nine violations, but none of them have a high priority. The restaurant met the testing criteria.

Complaints and warnings

Orange County took the top spot with 36 in most Central Florida warnings and other complaints.

Volusia had 21 people, Brevard had nine, Lake had eight, Osceola had eight, and Seminole had five.
