Three Central Florida restaurants closed last week – Orlando Sentinel

Three Central Florida restaurants closed for the week of February 23rd to March 1st, according to Florida Business and Professional Regulation data.

Tower Orlando, 7536 Dr. Phillips Boulevard, #360 of Orlando #360 Closed on February 25th. The inspector discovered six violations. The second test occurred on February 26th. Authorities discovered two violations, but neither of them were of high priority. The restaurant met the inspection criteria.

Seminole

Chuluota’s 640 SCR 418 BBQ Company closed on February 27th. Inspectors found 27 violations. These violations included the activity of flying insects, spiders and cockroaches. The inspector conducted his second inspection on the same day. They found 14 violations, but the restaurant remained closed. The third final test was conducted on February 28th. Officials found 11 violations, but none of them have a high priority. The restaurant met the inspection criteria.

Volsia

El Molcajete Cocina Mexican of Edgewater, 2976 S. Ridgewood Ave., closed on February 27th. Inspectors found 19 violations. These violations included ready-to-eat foods, cockroach activity, and raw food that was not isolated from foods held at the wrong temperature. The second test was conducted on February 28th. Officials discovered three violations, but were not given high priority. The restaurant met the inspection criteria. On the same day, the restaurant complied with the emergency order after failing to find a health violation inside the restaurant.

Complaints and warnings

Orange County took the top spot with 28 in most Central Florida warnings and other complaints.

There were 17 in the Seminoles, 15 in Brevard, 13 in Volsia, 9 in Lake, and 3 in Osceola.
