(Nexstar) – Sandwiches probably didn’t have much more authority than John Montagu, the fourth Earl of Sandwiches. But he’s been dead for a long time, so he has to resort to Yelp to identify the best place to ring Reuben, Hero and Hoagies.
Advances National Sandwich Month in August, Yelp has compiled the first list of the nation’s “top 100 sandwich shops” based on Yelp’s contributor community ratings and reviews. Among the nation’s top-rated eateries, Yelp analysts have identified dozens of delis and plenty of lunch counters with numerous five-star reviews.
First place went to Franky’s deli warehouse, a modest sandwich shop, on the edge of a strip mall in Hialea, Florida.
“The food is amazing,” one customer wrote in a recent Yelp review. “The service is great and buying sandwiches makes me feel like family.”
