MIMS, Fla. (WFLA) – The 3-year-old was hospitalized after an “accidental shooting,” the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies responded to the 400 block of Aurantia Road, Mimus around 12:20pm Monday after saying that a 3-year-old boy was accidentally shot and killed on a 911 phone call.

The boy was taken to a local hospital before he took to Orlando to life, BCSO said.

At this point, the child is listed in a stable state.

Investigators have conducted interviews and collected evidence to determine what led to the child being injured, deputies said.

No arrests have been made at this time.

Anyone with information about the incident will be asked to call leading criminal agent Stanton Wimmer at 321-633-8413.
